In December 2022, Silver Linings Arts quietly marked its first step into the world of artistic philanthropy.
Invited by the Amis des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Fangyou Belleli took part in the jury process for the Bourses des Amis and founded the very first:

Silver Linings Arts Prize — €5,000 Award

The 2022 award

Clédia Fourniau

The prize was awarded to Clédia Fourniau, a remarkable young painter whose practice explores colour, materiality, and perception. Her submission for the 2022 Bourses — featuring works from her Kernelite and Deep Sand Bed series — demonstrated both technical mastery and a moving sensitivity to presence, light, and embodied vision. This moment remains profoundly meaningful:
a sincere act of recognition, offered just days before Fangyou’s life transformed through her father’s illness.

For this reason, the Silver Linings Arts Prize entered a long pause — a necessary one — as life demanded a deeper journey of healing and rebirth.

Fangyou Belleli

Fangyou Belleli paints time—not its passage, but its pulse. Known for her large-scale portraits and nude studies painted live in 5 to 20 minutes, she works in oil on translucent tracing paper, capturing presence as it flickers and fades. Each stroke is a transmission—breath, energy, light.

Rooted in ancient notions of time, her practice merges mastery with surrender: a ritual of becoming rather than depiction. The figures she paints seem to appear and disappear as you move—ephemeral, vibrating, alive.

She does not paint what she sees.
She paints what is about to vanish.

“To paint is to disappear into the breath of another—until time folds, and only presence remains.” — Fangyou Belleli
