The traveling exhibition “Hyperrealism. Ceci n’est pas un corps” is exhibited at the Maillol Museum in an enriched and partly unpublished version.
Hyperrealism is an artistic current that appeared in the 1960s in the United States and whose techniques have since been explored by many contemporary artists. The exhibition presents a series of sculptures that shake our vision of art. Reality, art or copy? The hyperrealist artist turns his back on abstraction and seeks to achieve a meticulous representation of nature to the point that viewers sometimes wonder if they are dealing with the living body. These works thus generate a feeling of strangeness, but are always meaningful.
