The Dante Project, a three-act ballet inspired by the landscapes of The Divine Comedy, premiered in London in October 2021. Today, it enters the repertoire of the Paris National Opera with a vibrant orchestral score by Thomas Adès. British choreographer Wayne McGregor brings this Christian imagination of the Middle Ages to life by dancing the founding poem of the Italian language, which tells of an initiatory journey through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. Béatrice, a young woman who embodies a promise of love and hope, is at the center of the story. McGregor constructs a captivating story arc that takes viewers on a continuous journey, where sounds, gestures and lights form a mysterious and changing constellation.
