At the dawn of the 30s, the American writer Clifford Bradshaw arrives in Berlin to find inspiration for his new novel. For his first evening in the German capital, he went to the Kit Kat Klub, a cabaret with a sulphurous atmosphere. There he met Sally Bowles, the sparkling singer, and fell in love. While the young author is drawn into a whirlwind of parties and debauchery, the threat of a totalitarian regime hangs over the country.
For its reopening, the famous Salle des Champs-Élysées offers, under the artistic direction of Jean-Luc Choplin, a new production of Cabaret, directed by Robert Carsen (Singin’ in the Rain, My Fair Lady at the Théâtre du Châtelet but also dozens of operas at Bastille, Garnier and around the world). This is the first time that this cult musical will be given in Paris in its original version.
